Jimmy Scott's High & Tight: The Ed Randall Interview

If you've never heard of Ed Randall, that's okay.  You've heard of him now.  For more than 20 years, Randall has been interviewing baseball players, managers, and front office executives.  Name a player and he and Ed have probably had an on-the-record conversation.  As his friends say, Ed "knows everybody."

This appeal to so many people is very important, because Ed is a prostate cancer survivor.  We've talked earlier here to former Yankees pitcher Fritz Peterson about his ongoing battle with the disease.  Ed beat it.  It wasn't too long afterward that he decided to do something to help spread the word about prostate cancer and also find a cure.  That's when he founded Ed Randall's Bat For The Cure to Strike Out Prostate Cancer.

What does this mean to you?  If you're a man, it means a lot.  There is a 96-97% cure rate if detected early.  But you've got to have the sense to get yourself checked out.  As Ed states in the Jimmy Scott's High & Tight Interview with Ed Randall, he felt totally fine and had no symptoms when his prostate cancer was found.  You get yourself checked out if you're 40 years old.  Just do it.

You should also know this: Prostate Cancer is the most common cancer among men.  A man is 33% more likely to be diagnosed with prostate cancer than a woman is with breast cancer.  If you're a Caucasian male, one in six of you will be diagnosed with prostate cancer; if you're black, one in four.

Who's helping Ed Randall spread the word?  You should check out his Board of Directors & Advisory Board.  Ed really does know everybody.

And he knows a lot about baseball.  Listen to the interview and you'll hear him talk about his new book, Baseball For The Utterly Confused. Ed is also the author of More Tales From The Yankee Dugout.  Read his blog when you get the chance or listen to his Sunday morning show on WFAN (you can always stream it if you don't live in the NY area) or Sirius/XM Radio.  No matter what, Ed Randall is a pro.  So sit back and listen to a pro go to work.
