The Massively Monstrous Mickey Morandini Interview
Mickey Morandini was the kind of player who "left it all on the field," as the lame cliche goes. He was a "grinder," to add in another cliche (free of charge). But he was also a winner, playing in the 1993 World Series, the 1998 Division Series and an All-Star in 1995. If you were starting a team back in the mid-90s, Mickey would have been one of the 25 guys you would've chosen.
In our interview that I beg you to listen to, you'll learn about what it was like to bat behind Sammy Sosa and what it's like when you realize you can't play ball anymore (he'll need a shoulder replacement in the near future). He's a high school baseball coach now, plus a father and husband (still married to his college
sweetheart). In fact, he and the aforementioned college sweetheart own their own stationary store in Indiana.
So sit back, hear him reflect on the Gold Medal-winning 1988 Olympic Baseball Team he was a member of, his picks for the post-season, and other stuff you're guaranteed to love.
