Jimmy Says, Try These New & Better Links
Three new friends join the bulging Jimmy Scott network of websites: Fenway West, The Mockingbird, and Zell's Pinstripe Blog.
The Mockingbird is a Toronto Blue Jays fansite, but it's written from the vantage point of someone who's incredibly smart; the kind of person who can look at me for two seconds - not even pitching - and say, "He's got nothing today." He's better than a horse whisperer. He's a Pitcher Whisperer.
Jon Hale is the architect of The Mockingbird (like the artwork he found on our left?). What Jon does best is what he calls "Pitch f/x." Pitch f/x is a series of graphs he creates where he analyzes balls that come out of a pitcher's hand from the catcher's and hitter's persepectives. The graphs cover pitch selection and pitch location. To see more, click HERE. Recommended reading for those of you, like me, who are interested in pitching.
I live in Madison, New Jersey. I won't give you the exact address because stalkers live just about everywhere. But when I traded emails with Fenway West originator Matt O'Donnell, it turns out he's a graduate of Madison High School, late '80s edition. We miss you Matt!
His site - you should check it out. Matt's a (green) monster Red Sox fan who lives on the other side of Red Sox Nation. To prove his love and understanding of all things BoSox, he created Fenway West.
Matt performs lineup analysis, gives lots of notes on games and players, and This Day In Red Sox History. It's good stuff. Bookmark it, Dan-O.
Since the Yankees and Red Sox don't get along, I figured I'd list two competitors together today. You just read about Fenway West, now meet Zell's Pinstripe Blog.
If you are a Yankees fan or your just interested in what’s going on with the team..this is the place to be. It’s a blog about what this fine website believes is the best franchise in all of sports: The New York Yankees. Read this blog and read news, updates, and the daily events of the team.
There are daily boxscores on the site and Zell's in-depth analysis. But even more interesting is the collection of photos he shares on his site. He shows one after every post, and they add a lot to the site. My suggestion is for you to bookmark this one and love every moment you spend there.
