Upcoming Interviews

By Jimmy Scott - Posted on 19 September 2008

Here are a few somethings you (or y'all, depending upon where you are at this exact moment in time) can keep an eye out for here.  I will be interviewing Dr. Tom Robbins,  Director of Counseling and Safe & Drug-Free Schools, Archdiocese of Louisville, along with Nancy DeLaney next week.  Both Dr. Tom and Madam Nancy have worked with Kym Byrd on the research study about marriages in baseball.  You'll be able to hear our chat a week or so later (depending upon my schedule  - the playoffs would be a nice distraction).

I found out this about the good doctor:

Family Therapy and Teens
Description Family Therapists have a unique role in caring for adolescents. This is particularly important as parents and other adult caregivers attempt to raise and care for current-day teenagers in a world unfamiliar to their caregivers. This presentation will describe the current life experience of teens, the challenge of parenting today’s teens and the essential role of Family Therapists to guide modern day living.
Presenter
 Thomas D. Robbins, Ph.D.
Dr. Tom Robbins is Director of Counseling and Safe and Drug- Free Schools for the Archdiocese of Louisville, Kentucky. He serves as adjunct faculty in the marriage and family therapy program at the University of Louisville’s Kent School of Social Work. He earned his doctorate in marriage and family therapy at Florida State University and is an Approved Supervisor and Clinical Member of AAMFT. He presents to parents and school faculties at church events and state conventions and has a weekly radio forum where he promotes the work of family therapists

Two-time MVP Dale Murphy has agreed to be interviewed as well.  We're going to hook up in the next couple of weeks.  Dale's interview will be interesting because of the strong and public stance he's taken against current players using steroids.  Maybe we'll get a few controversial quotes out of him.  But shh!  Don't let him know that's our goal.  Let's keep that between us.

There are a few more possibilities I can't disclose yet, but more's a comin'.  Just hang tight, tell your pals about this site, and root, root, root for the home team.  I'm probably playing for them tonight.
