Your Jimmy Scott's High & Tight Monday Morning Interview Schedule

By Jimmy Scott - Posted on 29 November 2008

Believe it or not, my little buddies, I've got enough interviews to listen to with your Monday morning coffee to take us through Groundhog Day.  These are all done.  Finito.  They complete me.  They are interviews chock full of nutrients and stories you haven't heard and things that are so good for you you don't even know it.  I'm giving you your Jimmy Scott's High & Tight interview schedule below.  Click on the names to see their relevance.  Are you unfamiliar with the name?  That's okay.  Not every blockbuster wins an Oscar.  Sometimes it's the little film that comes out of nowhere and wins the hearts of America, or at least the members of the Academy.

For example, you'll hear Garrett Berger on December 8th.  "Who?" you say, a tiny fleck of dried cereal wedged perfectly between the corner of your mouth and your smile line.  "He was a #1 pick by the Marlins," I say, "and his story about not making it to the big leagues is probably 10 times more interesting than half of the interviews I've done.  So there."

Here's an important note: You can hear all of these on iTunes as well.  Go to your iTunes store and type in Jimmy Scott's Media in the search field.  You can download and subscribe there.

The main point I'm making, friends, is I'm asking you to give each of these a chance.  You keep coming back here for a reason.  I'm thinking it's because you're getting something that you can't find on other websites.  The interviews are the key to your continually getting that "something."  I'm guaranteeing you that you'll hear questions and answers that you do and will not get from your newspaper or mainstream media website.  Plus, you get to actually hear the subject speak.  You can hear the voice inflexions, the attitude.  Nothing's taken out of context or "misconstrued" because you're hearing it all for yourself the way the conversation was originally spoken.  Just listen.  You'll be surprised how surprised you'll be.

December 1 - Chad Durbin (key bullpen cog to your 2008 Philadelphia Phillies, co-founder Showcase U)

December 8 - Garrett Berger (former #1 pick Florida Marlins, owner iFungo.com)

December 15 - Ed Sprague (Jr.) (former Blue Jays, Pirates 3rd baseman, current head baseball coach University of the Pacific)

December 22 - Doug Glanville (former Phillies, Rangers, Cubs outfielder, owner GK Homes)

December 29 - Dave Page (strength & conditioning coach for the Boston Red Sox)

January 5 - Jason Grilli (reliever for your Colorado Rockies, owner Perfect Pitch Marketing)

January 12 - Craig Swan (1978 ERA leader, NY Mets, rolfing expert)

January 19 - Peter Golenbock (NY Times bestselling author, The Bronx Zoo, George)

January 26 - Eric Valent (former Phillies & Mets outfielder, hitting coach for Phillies short-season Williamsport CrossCutters)

February 2 - Geoff Goetz (former Mets #1 pick, traded for Mike Piazza)

There you have it.  And believe it or not, but why would you not, I've got 3 more interviews scheduled for this week and many more to come.  I won't give out names yet, because superstition leads me to believe that any premature announcement will lead to cancellation, indefinite postponement, and "I'm not talking to that jerk" problems that you and I certainly don't want to happen.

So let's make a pact.  Every Monday morning, I will give you something you want: the fulfillment of your baseball fix.  All I ask in return is that you give each of these guys a try.  You'll be surprised at how long you stick with them.
