Years ago, Rolaids aired television commercials using the theme, "How do you spell relief?" This related to baseball so much the brand sponsored the Rolaids Relief Man Award for the best relief pitchers in the American & National Leagues each year. This sponsorship still goes on today. Wayne Gomes, former relief pitcher for the Phillies, Giants and Red Sox, never won the award. But when he was chosen as the overall 4th pick in the 1993 amateur draft, expectations were high that he'd win the award over and over again.

What happened?
